This photo was taken on a yacht of a friend out of the Kenosha Marina, between Chicago and Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. We trolled for trout, which proved to be fruitless this late in the day and in such deep waters. According to the radar the fish were in much shallower waters of less than 20ft.
Although just a mile or so from shore, the temperature gets nearly 15 degrees cooler due to the sub-50 degree lake water and the wind blowing across it. While shorts and a t-shirt do justice on land, pants and a comfy jacket are much needed on the water!

Lake Mendota HDR Sunset
This photo was taken April 12, 2007 overlooking Lake Mondota in Madison, Wisconsin. As you can see, it was still quite cold, and in addition to the wind, the waves coated the rocks along the shore in an encasing of ice!
This is an HDR (High Dynamic Range) photo, and was composited from five seperate exposures.
